From the opening pages of Scripture, we learn that humanity was created in the image of God. When Jesus walked the earth, He wept with those who mourned, felt compassion for the crowds, rejoiced with His disciples, and experienced deep sorrow in the Garden of Gethsemane.
Many people believe boundaries push others away.In reality, healthy boundaries often preserve relationships.Without them, resentment grows. Exhaustion builds. Eventually, we have nothing left to give.
Trauma isn't only about what happened to us.It's also about what happened inside our nervous system because of what happened.Sometimes the danger ends, but our body never gets the message.
When caregivers consistently respond with love, comfort, and protection, we begin to develop what psychologists call secure attachment. We learn that when we're afraid, someone comes. When we hurt, someone cares. We discover that love is dependable.
